Greenspan, Jay
(2002) **MySQL
Weekend Crash Course.
New York, NY: Hungry Minds. ISBN 0-7645-3634-6. [
Exellent introduction to MySQL. If you want to get up to speed on
MySQL this is a good book. It is an excellent and well written
introduction to MySQL, in spite of the title. And the price is
reasonable. ]
Kline, Kevin.
(2001) SQL
in a Nutshell.
Sebastopol, CA: O'Reilly & Associates. ISBN 1-56592-744-3. [ Good
reference as it covers Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL and PostGres
SQL. As might be expected some explanations are somewhat cursory.]

Stevens, Ryan and Ron Plew. (2002) Teach Yourself SQL in 24 Hours.
Indianapolis, IN: Sams Publishing. ISBN 0-672-32442-3. [Not bad,
espeically for the low price. Exercises emphasize MySQL although book
does use Oracle to illustrate some SQL concepts. On the plus side the
coverage is reasonably in-depth on formatting, dates, etc. for an
introductory book.]
