Synopsis:
Introduction
to the basics of relational database design including tables,
fields, keys, indexes, views, normalization, entity relationship
diagrams, and SQL. Students will construct a simple ERD using Visio
or another modeling tool. Students should be familiar with Windows
and database concepts. Some programming or analysis background is desireable. |

Related Courses:
DBD201 Accelerated
Introduction to Relational Database Design is is very similar
but with module 3 (SQL) removed and foundation concepts (theory)
shortened. You may want to consider that course if you simply want
some exposure to modeling and constructing an Entity Relationship
Diagram (ERD).

Materials:
Students will be provided a copy of all exercise files. They will
also receive a binder with a printout of the slides used in their class.

Scheduling:
Each session above may be customized and scheduled as desired for
each custom group class.

Location:
Classes are normally taught at your facilities. We do, however,
offer a wide range of alternatives, including our own training room,
to suit your requirements. Please see FAQ's
for details. We can also travel beyond Southern California if appropriate.
